Having started its activity in the initial period of the development of radioelectronic industry in the Republic of Belarus, Radiotechnical school gradually turned into the higher college. In 1991 it received the status of College and in 1995 it was reorganized into State Higher Radioengineering College.
On September the 1st, 1960 200 pupils began their studies in newly-opened Minsk Radiotechnical school, the foundation of which was caused by the rapid development of radioelectronics and computer techniques, having arised due to the need of the Republic for the qualified technical staff. The first admission of the pupils was held by the following specialities: “Electron calculating machines, instruments and devices”, “Radioapparatus design”, “Radioinsulating materials and radiodetails manufacturing”, “Programming for high-speed computers”.
22 teachers trained the specialists on the full-time and correspondence forms of education.
Graduates of our college have always been distinguished by the deep knowledge of their profession, confident awarance of modern technologies. Many of them have become skillful organizers, famous scientists, specialists of radioelectronics, some of them are marked with high government rewards.
From the foundation day of the educational institution it has changed its name, its carricula, diplomed specialists have been followed by new entrants, full of ambitions to get professional education, many teachers have already retired and young teachers have come, have required experience, qualification, high-qualified skills. The non-measured teachers’ labour was the only thing that has been unchanged, that multiplied the college traditions and fame among the establishments of the Republic.
During the existence of our educational institution more than 21 thousand specialists were trained, among them 477 people with higher education on the full-time form of education, 282 people on the correspondence form of education.
Nowadays at the three daily departmemts more than 2500 pupils, including 35% studing on the payment-basis. The graduation of first twenty students with higher education took place in 1998.
Nowadays in the college 349 employees are engaged, 255 of them are teachers (including 2 Doctor of Science, 1 professor, 19 doctors, 18 associate professors).
